Mother's Day Gifts Shopping Guide

Mother's Day is fast approaching but there's still time to order for timely delivery ahead of the big date. These are a few recommended items from Valerie Tyler Designs (both the signature line and the  personalized collection) that would make great gifts.

The Love Cuff Bracelet is a sweet, simple way to show how you feel about Mom.  Each one is individually handstamped and comes gift boxed.

For the mom you love to the moon and back, consider the Crescent Moon and Stars Necklace.  It's elegant and eye-catching.

The double initial heart ring is always an incredibly popular choice, and one of the best sellers.  It can be personalized with any two hand stamped initials you'd like.  Great for kids initials!

Too many siblings? Or perhaps you'd like a ring without initials?  The new relic style rings are perfect for spring and summer trends, but have a timeless quality.  They're made of rustic, distressed brass.  Each on individually handmade.  The double chevron ring is just one of the many relic style rings available. All are adjustable so there is no need to worry about that perfect fit.

If you'd really like to splurge on Mom consider a one of a kind statement necklace like the riveted circles necklace in mixed metals.  The combination of sterling and oxidized silver plus golden brass rivets lends this necklace versatility, while the style is super modern and unique. It's a piece that's sure to attract attention.

New Relic Style Brass Rings

I'm thrilled to introduce the new relic style rings! They're adjustable, 100% solid brass rings that are great for stacking or wearing in multiples. Each one is  hand-textured, hammered to lend a distressed finish, then undergoes torch heat and patina for a rustic, antique style finish. Lots of new style are being unveiled daily.

What to Wear: Spring Nautical Trend

As I watch the snow drifting down outside my window I am wishing, wishing, wishing for Spring already!  It's March so it's time to start thinking about Spring wardrobes and nothing usually gets me more excited than seeing the nautical styles that always start popping up at this time of the year to herald the coming of warmer months!

For this what to wear feature I'm featuring the Navy Stripe Wiggle Dress from Alexandra King.  She's a British designer from Bristol. The dress is made to order, with a sexy 1950's hourglass style and an elegant plunging back.  While it would be beautiful all by itself, or it could get some extra nautical flavor with red or beige accessories I decided to pair it with bright yellow accessories in hopes of more sunshine soon! I've even given you two footwear options so you can go for a more casual or dressy look.

What To Wear: Teal and Chocolate

The moment I saw this gorgeous Secret Garden dress by Lirola I knew I had to use it for the inspiration for my new "What to Wear" feature.  To begin with, I simply love a-line dresses. They are flattering for just about any shape or figure.  Secondly, this color is so refreshing.  The dress has pleats on the skirt, darling little pockets, and gorgeous handmade flowers at shoulder and neckline. It can be made in your exact measurements too.

Now that being said, the whole point of this new feature is to share accessories and jewelry to coordinate with the inspiration piece.  While there are so many possibilities, since we're still in the middle of winter I went with some chocolate brown accents and nature inspired jewelry that can easily carry over to Spring.

Clockwise from top left to bottom left:
1. Felicity leather wedges (handmade!) from  Bali Elf, $150
2. Teal, mint, brown and white hairpins from coloureen, $16
3.  Pebbles mini hoop earrings from Valerie Tyler Designs, $20
4. Leather Women's Wallet from MatkaShop, $84
5.  Wood bracelet from valeriemiscellanea , $32
