Visit Elements Gallery for Jewelry by Valerie Tyler Designs

I recently dropped off a second grouping of jewelry at Elements Gallery in Peninsula. I'm thrilled to have my work represented there.  In addition to my jewelry, there's lots of other accessories, gorgeous sculpture and pottery, woodwork and leatherwork and plenty of stunning art. Elements Gallery is owned by Stephen and Debra Bures, who are both experienced and talented artists.  The gallery is right in the heart of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park so of course you can find plenty of natural influences, but there are also elements of modern design, ethnic influences, and functional art.

I'd recommend making a day of half day excursion to not only check out the gallery and do a little shopping but hop aboard the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad or go for a bike ride on the towpath,  grab some lunch and hit a few of the other cute little boutiques and shops in downtown Peninsula as well.  Or if you are headed off to Blossom for a concert or festival stop by Peninsula first.

Happy February!

Happy first day of February! We survived a relatively mild January here in Ohio.  (My husband only had to survive a few two hour commutes to work) Now,  February came in dropping a few inches of snow overnight but letting the sun shine a bit today.  Even the birds are out chirping and flying around the house driving my cats into a frenzy.

Happy birthday to you February babies!  For you I present a few pieces with the February birthstone Amethyst.

Though, if you're like me, you don't need to have a Feburary birthday to covet this stone.  I particularly love Amethyst in it's rough raw nugget state, or as a geode.
Here's a few amethyst beauties perfect for February:

Jewelry Trends : Personalized Jewelry

This morning I shipped off three more initial rings to their recipients, and thought about expanding the my custom initial jewelry line even further. Initial jewelry has been popular this year for bridesmaid gifts, to celebrate relationships, anniversaries and even the birth of children. I've even sold initial jewelry for those looking to commemorate the initials of a special pet. Lots of people simply want to even wear their own initial. I offer my custom initial jewelry in the Miscellanea Collection by Valerie Tyler.

Pretty, Pink, Pastel - Valentines Jewelry Ideas

I'm not always a huge fan of pink. I guess I always want to be a bit "edgier" or "tougher" or something. (as if!) However, I always make an exception for subtle, muted ballet pink. It's almost an earthy, natural tone. It's flattering to most skin colors and sublimely elegant. Here's two of my favorite pieces in more neutral pink:
